Poems
There are 2 poems that I wrote that define the basis of "Safe Under the Willow". I have added both poems to the sub pages. The first titled, "The Ticking Clock". The second is titled "Let's Play Life"
"The Ticking Clock" poem, I believe, is one of my most powerful poems. It hits home to many while others either choose not to believe that abuse is real or can't fathom the horror that happens. This piece describes a battered woman and her child fearing their lives every time the husband comes home from drinking.
"Let's Play Life" is somewhat of an illusion. It take the reader away from reality, dealing with intimate feelings that one wouldn't want to speak out loud.
